The Wildfire Ravel 400 is a highly realistic, glass-fronted gas fire combining a detailed log-effect fuel bed with Wildfire’s innovative under-log burner technology. Designed around the popular 16″ x 22″ fireplace format, the Ravel 400 offers excellent flexibility with a choice of frame styles, inset stove styling, hole-in-the-wall installation and conventional or balanced flue options.

Realistic Log Effect

At the heart of the Ravel 400 is its beautifully detailed log-effect fuel bed. The burner system is positioned beneath the logs, allowing the flames to rise naturally through and around them for a convincing wood-burning appearance.

The clever turndown system allows the fire to be reduced to a lower heat setting while still maintaining an attractive flame picture – perfect when you want to enjoy the fire without maximum heat.

Ravel 400 HE – Conventional Flue

The Ravel 400 HE Conventional Flue is a high-efficiency, glass-fronted gas fire designed for homes with a suitable Class 1 or Class 2 flue, including compatible brick chimney and prefabricated flue installations.

It provides a maximum 3.5kW heat output, reducing to approximately 2.1kW on low.

The standard fire can be finished with either a stylish Black Nickel & Chrome trim or a contemporary Anthracite trim, allowing it to work with both modern and traditional fireplaces.

Ravel 400 HE – Balanced Flue

For homes without a conventional chimney, the Ravel 400 is also available as a Balanced Flue model. This room-sealed version vents directly outside using its dedicated flue system, providing much greater flexibility when choosing where to position your fireplace.

The Balanced Flue model provides approximately 1.7kW to 3.0kW heat output and achieves up to 83% efficiency.

The balanced-flue Ravel retains the same detailed logs, under-log burner technology and impressive flame picture as the conventional-flue model.

Black Nickel & Chrome Trim

For a more decorative finish, choose the Black Nickel & Chrome trim. The contrasting metallic finishes create a smart, eye-catching border around the fire and work particularly well with marble, limestone and traditional fireplace surrounds.

Anthracite Trim

The Anthracite option offers a darker and more understated appearance. Its simple styling puts greater emphasis on the log-effect fuel bed and flames, making it a versatile choice for both contemporary and traditional interiors.

Ravel 400 Inset Stove

For the character of a stove combined with the convenience of an inset gas fire, choose the Ravel 400 Inset Stove option.

A lightweight aluminium stove-style front transforms the Ravel 400 into the appearance of a traditional inset log burner while retaining the convenience of gas and simple slide control.

The stove front is available with a choice of Black or Satin stove handle, allowing you to personalise the final appearance.

Importantly, the Inset Stove option can be used with brick chimney, prefabricated and Balanced Flue versions, subject to the appropriate fire specification.

Ravel 400 Hole-in-the-Wall

The Ravel 400 HIW offers a completely different look, allowing the fire to be installed higher in the wall without a traditional hearth-mounted fireplace surround.

A stylish four-sided Black Nickel & Chrome frame surrounds the fire, creating a clean contemporary feature while retaining the realistic Ravel log and flame effect.

This is an excellent option for smaller rooms where you want to save floor space or create a more contemporary fireplace design.

Slide Control Options

The Ravel 400 features an easy-to-operate slide control, allowing the fire to be turned on and the flame and heat level adjusted without reaching underneath the appliance.

Depending on configuration, the slide lever is available in a choice of:

Chrome | Black Nickel | Black | Ezi-Grip

The optional Ezi-Grip lever is particularly useful where easier operation is preferred.

Flue Options Explained

Brick Chimney / Class 1 Flue – Ideal for traditional properties with an existing suitable chimney. The conventional-flue Ravel 400 HE can be installed into compatible Class 1 systems.

Prefabricated / Class 2 Flue – The conventional Ravel 400 HE is also compatible with suitable Class 2 prefabricated flue systems, giving greater installation flexibility.

Balanced Flue – Designed for properties without a conventional chimney. The fire is room-sealed and uses a dedicated flue to bring combustion air in and expel combustion gases outside.
