RAIS Caro – Soft Scandinavian Design, Tailored to Your Home

The RAIS Caro is a beautifully proportioned wood-burning stove that combines contemporary Scandinavian design with impressive flexibility. Characterised by its softly rounded front, curved lines and gently sloping sides, the Caro has a compact footprint while still providing a generous view of the fire.

Its understated shape makes it particularly versatile. Rather than dominating an interior, the Caro can sit comfortably within both contemporary and more traditional homes, while the extensive range of RAIS customisation options allows you to create a stove that feels genuinely individual.

Three Heights – One Distinctive Design

The Caro is available in three principal steel-bodied heights, allowing you to select the proportions that best suit the room:

Caro 90 – 920 mm high
At just under a metre tall, the Caro 90 is the most compact version. Measuring approximately 486 mm wide x 407 mm deep x 920 mm high, it is an excellent choice where space is at a premium without sacrificing the presence or view of the fire.

Caro 110 – 1,111 mm high
The Caro 110 adds extra height while retaining the same beautifully balanced proportions. At approximately 486 mm wide x 407 mm deep x 1,111 mm high, it creates a little more visual presence and works particularly well as a focal point in a living space.

Caro 130 – 1,329 mm high
For a stronger architectural statement, the Caro 130 rises to approximately 1,329 mm, while remaining only around 500 mm wide. Its additional height gives the stove an elegant, elongated appearance and provides scope for heat-retaining stones within the upper section.

Alongside these models, the Caro range also includes stone-clad SST and PST versions, providing a different aesthetic as well as increased heat-storage capability.

Make Your Caro Your Own

One of the great strengths of RAIS is the ability to customise a stove rather than simply choosing a standard model.

The Caro is available in a choice of six carefully selected RAIS colours, making it possible to coordinate the stove with the wider interior. The flue outlet can also be specified in a matching colour, helping create a seamless appearance from the stove upwards.

There is also a selection of handles in different materials and finishes, allowing a surprisingly small detail to change the overall character of the stove.

The door can be specified in steel or glass, providing another opportunity to move between a more traditional, defined appearance and a cleaner, more contemporary aesthetic.

Side Glass – Enjoy More of the Fire

For an even greater connection with the flames, the Caro can be specified with side glass. This expands the view beyond the large curved front window, allowing the fire to be enjoyed from different positions within the room.

It is an especially attractive option for installations where the stove is positioned more openly within a space rather than recessed into a fireplace.

A swivel base can also be incorporated on suitable configurations, further enhancing the ability to enjoy the fire from different angles.

Manual or CleverAir™ Control

The Caro can be enjoyed with traditional manual air control, giving you direct involvement in managing the fire.

Alternatively, it can be equipped with RAIS CleverAir™, an automatic combustion-control system. CleverAir automatically regulates the supply of combustion air, helping maintain more precise and efficient burning without requiring you to continually adjust the air control yourself.

Simply light the stove and add wood when required, while CleverAir manages the airflow throughout the combustion process.

Efficient Heat in a Compact Form

Despite its relatively compact dimensions, the current Caro range has a nominal heat output of 5.5 kW, making it well suited to many contemporary living spaces. The current technical documentation also specifies a 150 mm flue connection.

An optional fresh-air connection (AirKit) allows combustion air to be supplied directly to the stove from outside. This can be particularly beneficial in modern, highly insulated or low-energy homes, where minimising the amount of room air used for combustion can be important.

Caro Stone – Heat That Lasts

For those looking for greater heat retention, the Caro PST introduces natural stone into the design.

The substantial stone mass absorbs heat while the fire is burning and gradually releases it afterwards, helping provide a more even and prolonged feeling of warmth. RAIS offers stone options including soapstone and Porto stone, combining the natural variation and character of stone with the softly curved Caro design.
