Description
The HWAM 5200 and 5400 Series are larger contemporary Danish wood-burning stoves designed for customers wanting a wide, impressive flame picture. Both combine HWAM’s clean Scandinavian styling with automatic combustion control, while the different models allow you to choose the stove height and overall presence. HWAM lists both families in its official technical documentation.
HWAM 5200 Series
The 5200 Series has a broad, horizontal firebox and a relatively understated design, making it particularly suited to larger living spaces where a wide view of the flames is important.
- HWAM 5220 – the lower, more compact floor-standing version.
- HWAM 5230 – a taller version giving the stove greater presence in the room.
- HWAM 5240 – taller again, creating a more substantial architectural focal point.
- Depending on model/configuration, c (classic) and m (modern) door styles provide a choice between more traditional detailing and a cleaner contemporary appearance.
- HWAM® Autopilot™ automatically regulates combustion air to help maintain efficient, cleaner burning.
The 5200 is the choice for customers who want a large landscape-style fire view without an excessively tall stove.
HWAM 5400 Series
The newer HWAM 5400 Series comprises the 5420, 5440 and 5460. All three share the same broad firebox but use different body heights, allowing the stove to range from a relatively compact installation to a tall statement piece.
HWAM 5420 is the lowest model, ideal where the emphasis is on the wide fire view rather than overall stove height. HWAM 5440 adds height and greater visual presence, while the HWAM 5460 is the tallest of the three and creates the strongest architectural statement.
For the current 5400 Series, HWAM specifies a 6.3kW nominal heat output, 75% useful efficiency and an A energy-efficiency rating when burning wood logs with 12–18% moisture content.
5200 vs 5400
The 5200 Series is an established HWAM design with a broad, panoramic fire chamber and several body configurations. The 5400 Series is the newer-generation alternative, with the range clearly structured around the 5420, 5440 and 5460, all sharing the same 6.3kW performance but offering progressively taller designs.
Across HWAM stoves, Autopilotâ„¢ mechanically regulates the combustion air automatically; HWAM also offers SmartControlâ„¢ on supported models, which provides electronic combustion management and smartphone functionality.
For a website, the simplest customer message is: choose the 5200 for an established wide-format HWAM stove with multiple styling configurations, or the 5400 for the latest wide-fire design with a choice of three heights and a 6.3kW nominal output.
