Description
The Chesneys English Heritage Collection is a distinctive range of historically inspired fire surrounds and grates created from original designs found within some of England’s most significant historic properties. Each piece combines traditional craftsmanship, authentic architectural detailing and carefully selected natural stone or marble, with influences ranging from historic castles and Neo-Gothic country houses to elegant Art Deco interiors.
The collection comprises six fireplace designs:
- The Walmer
- The Eltham
- The Kenwood
- The Marble Hill
- The Osborne
- The Brodsworth
The collection also includes coordinating English Heritage fire baskets and grates, designed to complement the surrounds and recreate the character of the original fireplaces. For example, the Walmer is shown with the Kenwood II fire basket, while the Eltham is paired with the Kenwood III.
The Walmer takes its inspiration from the entrance hall fireplace at Walmer Castle and is carved in Italian Arabescato marble, while the Eltham draws on the Art Deco elegance of Eltham Palace and is manufactured in Ivory Travertine.
