Charnwood Bay BX Wood Stove

Description

The Charnwood Bay BX is a striking contemporary wood-burning stove designed around a wide landscape firebox and generous view of the flames. It uses the same firebox and frame as Charnwood’s Bay VL inset stove, but adds an outer casing to transform it into a freestanding appliance.

Why choose the Bay BX?

The Bay BX is particularly suited to contemporary interiors where you want the long, widescreen appearance of an inset fire with the flexibility and presence of a freestanding stove.

It can sit directly on the hearth, or you can completely change its appearance with one of three base options:

• Bench Stand — creates a dramatic, wide architectural feature.
• Centre Stand — raises the stove on a minimalist pedestal.
• Store Stand — adds height and practical space beneath the fire.

Both the stove and its base options are available in eight Charnwood colours, allowing contrasting combinations if desired.

Key specifications

The Bay BX has a 5kW nominal output, with an operating range of approximately 2–7kW, making it capable of providing anything from a gentler burn to considerably more heat when required. Charnwood’s specification gives 81% net efficiency.

It is Ecodesign Ready and DEFRA exempt for burning wood in Smoke Control Areas. It also incorporates Charnwood’s Cleanburn Airwash technology, helping maintain a clear view through that large ceramic-glass window.

A particularly useful feature of the wide firebox is its capacity for logs up to approximately 463mm (18″) long. The stove has a 150mm top flue outlet.
