British Fires Winchester Suite Range
Love the media-wall look, but not the building work?
An electric fireplace suite could be the perfect alternative.
Designed to create a complete, beautifully proportioned feature, a suite gives you the impact of a contemporary built-in fireplace without necessarily needing the framing, plastering and decorating associated with a bespoke media wall.
Quicker to install, less disruptive and easier to change in the future, it’s a simple way to transform a room — while still allowing the fire to become a stunning focal point in its own right.
Big impact. Less building work. Beautifully simple.
Description
The British Fires Winchester Suite is a contemporary wall-mounted electric fireplace suite combining a New Forest electric fire with a hand-finished marble-effect surround. Its balanced, symmetrical design works particularly well when you want the impact of a built-in fireplace without major building work, a chimney or a gas supply.
How does it work?
Installation is deliberately straightforward: wall bracket → electric fire → suite. The suite is wall hung, and the fire runs from a standard 220–240V, 13A electrical supply.
The fire uses LED flame technology, so you can enjoy the flame effect independently of the heater. When warmth is required, its Air Curtain Technology provides approximately 1.26–1.5kW of supplementary heat, with thermostatic temperature control from 17–27°C. A remote control is included.
Depending on the fire specification selected, British Fires offers its Signature fuel bed, Deluxe Real Logs and Black Edition configurations. The Deluxe option uses genuine British oak logs, hand-charred and arranged with bark and twigs to create a particularly realistic firebed.
Sizes
There are three Winchester sizes, designed around the corresponding New Forest fire:
| Model | Overall width | Overall height | Depth |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winchester 870 | 1200mm | 1200mm | 317.5mm |
| Winchester 1200 | 1530mm | 1200mm | 317.5mm |
| Winchester 1600 | 1930mm | 1200mm | 317.5mm |
British Fires scales the surround proportionally around each fire, so the 1600 creates a substantial feature wall while the 870 is better suited to more compact spaces.
Colours
The Winchester is available in 4 hand-painted finishes:
Carbon Black, Flint Grey, Pearl White, Linen Stone
The paint is applied by hand to the MDF suite, with the veining continuing around corners and edges rather than appearing as obvious joined panels.
