British Fires Ashlett Range
The British Fires Ashlett Insert is designed for customers wanting the appearance of a built-in fireplace but in a more compact format than the wide New Forest models. It can be installed front-facing, on a corner or three-sided, and can also be fitted frameless for a particularly clean architectural look.
Description
The British Fires Ashlett Insert is designed for customers wanting the appearance of a built-in fireplace but in a more compact format than the wide New Forest models. It can be installed front-facing, on a corner or three-sided, and can also be fitted frameless for a particularly clean architectural look.
One of its standout features is the fuel bed. The Ashlett comes with Deluxe Real Logs made from genuine British oak, individually scorched and hand-charred, combined with a detailed glowing ember effect. Rear Dark Glass is standard, helping reduce reflections and give the flames and logs greater visual depth.
It uses LED flame technology, with adjustable lighting and flame effects. Flame colours include orange, red and yellow, and the flames can be enjoyed without switching on the heater. A remote control is supplied, along with thermostatic temperature control from 17–27°C and daily/weekly timer functions.
For heating, it provides up to 1.5kW of supplementary warmth from a discreet downward-facing heater. UK specification is 220–240V, 13A.
Sizes & installation
British Fires currently presents the Ashlett internationally in 26″, 30″ and 36″ versions. The UK specification sheet I found specifically gives dimensions for the 26-inch model at approximately 650mm wide × 490mm high, with a 313mm firebox depth; the overall width shown is 677mm depending on installation/frame configuration.
Optional steel frames allow you to change the finished appearance, with front-facing, left/right corner and three-sided configurations available.
