Material
The Durham is offered by Chesneys as a limestone fireplace, giving the detailed carving a warm, understated natural finish. As limestone is a natural material, variations in tone, markings and fossil content are part of the individual character of each surround. Chesneys also states that its fireplaces can be produced in bespoke sizes, and the company can work with alternative stone and marble for bespoke commissions.
With its generous 40″ opening, impressive proportions and carved corbel detailing, the Durham is an excellent choice for customers looking for a grand traditional fireplace that makes a strong architectural statement.
